Namo South Indian Restaurant was born from passion, perseverance, and a deep love for authentic Indian flavors.

Our journey began in 2016 with Vijay Cloud Kitchen in Almaty. It was a humble start, driven by a big dream — to bring the true taste of South India to a place far from home. Building on this experience, we launched Taj Cafe in 2019, which ran successfully until 2020. However, the global pandemic forced us to close our doors — but never our dreams.

Through every challenge, one thing remained constant: our commitment to quality food and honest service.

In May 2024, we proudly introduced Namo South Indian Restaurant under Riya International LLP — stronger, wiser, and more passionate than ever.

Today, Namo stands as a destination where tradition meets taste. We serve authentic South Indian dishes — from crispy dosas and soft idlis to flavorful sambar and homestyle curries — all prepared using fresh ingredients and traditional recipes.

Our mission is simple:
To bring the true taste of South India to Almaty with quality, hygiene, and heartfelt hospitality.

From a cloud kitchen to a full-fledged restaurant, this is more than just a business journey —
it is a story of resilience, belief, and a genuine love for food.

My name is Vijayaraj, and I bring over 24 years of experience in the food and hospitality industry—built on passion, continuous learning, and hard work.

I began my journey after completing my diploma, starting as an employee in a small café. I then gained valuable experience working with Taj Hotels, followed by roles in a catering company and at Rixos Hotel in Kazakhstan. These experiences shaped my discipline, strengthened my customer service skills, and deepened my understanding of authentic cuisine.

In 2016, I took my first entrepreneurial step by launching Vijay Cloud Kitchen. I later expanded my journey by opening Taj Cafe and Raj Food Court, each venture teaching me important lessons about business and growth.

In May 2024, I fulfilled my dream by launching Namo South Indian Restaurant under Riya International LLP.

At Namo, I personally ensure:

  • Authentic South Indian flavors in every dish
  • Use of fresh, high-quality ingredients
  • Strict hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Warm and heartfelt hospitality

From working in cafés and hotels to building my own ventures—Vijay Cloud Kitchen, Taj Cafe, Raj Food Court, and now Namo South Indian Restaurant—this has been my 24-year journey of growth, learning, and love for food.
